How does Roar make money from this, if it is all really free to us?

Roar makes its money by selling the adverts direct to advertisers. From the proceeds we can then produce the guides, pay for any other 'norms', pay staffing costs and also make a donation to your charity.

Why can only South west stations use Roar?

Because we like to give a personal service, and be available for meetings etc... and as a new company don't want to try to run before we can walk; It is also important that we are within a commutable region from Exeter, which is where were based, so we can apply a personal touch. We do however hope to expand to further regions in the future.

What do we have to do?

All you need to do is distribute the guides; mainly amongst your listeners. However we would also advise placing some guides in waiting area's; staff area's; local doctors and dentists etc... so that not only do you get greater publicity for your station but also your advertisers get maximum exposure as well, hence they will more likely to advertise again meaning we can fund your next issue.

How long does an issue take to be produced?

We work on a rough rule of about 5 months. This gives us ample time to help you with your editorial, but also enough time to find advertisers to advertise in your guide. In the first month we contact your hospital trust to ensure that we don't sell advertising to anyone that they deem not suitable for publicity within their hospital. The second, third and fourth months we will be selling the advertising space, compiling adverts, getting them proofed etc; as well as helping you to sort out the editorial for the guide. In the fifth month we go to print. The printing process itself only takes about a week.
