Roar Creative is currently producing a guide for Tarka Radio which is the hospital radio station for the Northern Devon NHS Trust hospital, North Devon District Hospital.

Here are a few statistics you may like to know about the potential readers of the Tarka Radio Guide:

Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust serves North Devon and neighbouring towns and villages in North East Cornwall and Mid Devon. North Devon is a popular retirement area and more than 20% of the population are over 65 years old and nearly 10% are over 75 years old (UK averages are 16% and 7.5%, respectively). The total local population has increased by about 1% per year in the last decade.

Over the year 2005/06 there were around 19,000 inpatients and day case patients and 112,000 outpatient attendances. There were around 34,000 emergency department attendances and 16000 emergency admissions. Some 1500 babies were born.

Tarka Radio will also be distributing guides to local dentists and doctors surgeries within the area and also handing them out at local events which they will be attending.
